Nordic Art School is participating in the night of Trade and Commerce on Friday 14th of September, an event organised by the city of Kokkola and the traders in the center. The students together with their teacher Jesper Aabille, Danish artist, present a kind of Social art in urban spaces. The idea of social art is that it appears unexpectably to the public, softly melting in and paraciting on the environment where it is placed into. Social art wants to bring joy to the public, sometimes even being helpfull to the watcher.
Following students have participated in the workshop about social art:
S.M. Khalid Imran, Oliver Lehtinen, Miika Luhti, Björn Lönnroth and Joonatan Wargh. During Friday night you can run into a sea of flowers, a parking lot for toy cars, rules for play ground, cartoons and water dolor paintings. The works are put on a map, specially produced for this event. The students together with their teacher welcomes the visitors on a littke adventure around town to see their pieces af art.
VISU-gallery, showing the exhibition La Croisette of Karin Lindh is also open until 10 p.m. on Friday.
