Fredrik Lindqvist in GRO gallery

Our present guest teacher Fredrik Lindqvist shows his soloexhibition "Erzähl mir eine Geschichte", wood cut on canvas in the GRO gallery in Pietarsaari, Campus Allgro on Runeberginkatu 10 during 25.1 - 3.3.2013.

Fredrik Lindqvist is a print making artist who mainly works with woodcuts. His works are based on cut-outs from pop magazines, ads and books. Of the cut-outs he makes collages that he draws on mdf-boards, prints them on canvas and intergrates the different prints with black, thick thread. His works are often in very large formats, visually crazy and consisting of numerous details in attractive combinations.

His works often describe the stressful life of today, the never ending flow of images, wich reminds of surfing between TV-channels or on internet. His works mix humor with biting reality and the ancient print making clashes with influences of our modern life.

Fredrik Lindqvist was born in Kristianstad in 1968. He studied art in Umeå art academy and in the Art academy of Düsseldorf. Today he lives and works in Ingolstadt, close to München in Germany. He is a very appreciated guest teacher at the Nordic Art School. The exhibition is produced by Nordic Art School in cooperation with GRO Gallery. Opening of exhibtion on Thursday 24th of January at 6 p.m.
