The italian artist Stefano Cagol has been living and working in the AiR Drake from the beginning of December, 2013. Stefano Cagol’s artistic research faces the idea of border and its different manifestations: mental, physical, cultural, political, communicative ones, or between individual and collective. For doing this, he uses different media like video, photography, sculpture, installation, action.
Cagol is giving his Artist Talk at the Nordic Art School Thursday 9th of January at 6 p.m. He is also showing his video installation, 'Scanning the borders', at Kokkola town library, in the main entrance Thursday 9th of January at 2 - 8 p.m. and on Friday 10th of January at 2 - 6 p.m.
Cagol realized a new video work in Kokkola acting scan exercises on the border with a symbolical light. He metaphorically re-activated the Harrinniemi light house, disabled since many decades.Spun a beacon scanning borders. The border of water, of sky, of night. Borders on a move. Physical and mental borders.
