Artist Talk by Amanda Billberg tuesday 10.11 at 6 p.m.

The current Artist in Residence in the Drake Arts Centre, Kokkola is Amanda Billberg. Amanda is based in Umeå, Sweden. She works as a freelance choreographer, dancer and performance artist. She has an exam from Iwanson International School of Contemporary dance i München (2006-2009).

In her choreographic work she uses and experiments with various improvisational method. In her work she strives to directly or indirectly explore issues about gender, social norms and identity and to engage the consciousness of the creative human being.

During her residency period she will develop one of her earlier solo works and a  presentation of the solo work will be held by the end of her residency period. Amanda will also keep workshops for Swedish speaking pupils during the ''Brilliant week'-festival in Kokkola, this is part of the project  ''Artist in mission'' - a cooperation between Kokkola city, Drake Arts Centre and the Arts Promotion Centre in Ostrobothnia. 

During her Artist Talk will Amanda tell more about her work and also keep a short workshop in movement based improvisation (no experience required).
